  • VI Directory Manager - Presets/Matrices not found

I am using VI 5.3.13166 within VEP 5.3.13151 and Mac OSX10.8.5. I have used the Directory Manager to point the path to my Epic-Orchestra folder. I still do not see the Presets/Matrices available in VI (as a plugin in VEP). I have restarted all of the programs as well as the computer. What else should I do to make sure VI can see the instruments?

  • Hello andermusik,

Did you make sure that your sample content is actually installed (*.dat files)?

Your downloaded installation files (*.cab files, highly compressed) have to be installed (=extracted) to become the actual sample content.

In the installation process, the location of this sample content is added to your Directory Manager automatically.

Installation should start automatically if you have not turned off the "Auto-Install" Option in the Download Manager ("on" by default).

If the sample content is not installed yet, simply click "INSTALL" in the Download Manager!

  • Thanks, Paul. I originally installed Epic Orchestra on my Host computer. The sample content was successfully installed (as ".dat" files). I am simply trying to point VI from a second (slave) computer (w/ VI installed) to that same sample folder via Directory Manager. I was able to point to the correct folder, but when I open a VI (in VEP and standalone) the presets/matrices do not appear. Must I re-download and install from there beginning on the second computer as well?

  • It now occurs to me that I may need a second license to use VI on a second computer. Is this the actual problem?

  • AFAIK you only get one licence of Epic Orchestra, so that licence needs to be on the dongle connected to the computer you want to run it from. You get three licences for VE Pro, so you must be sure to plug the correct dongle into the correct computer.
