    Hi

    I'm getting wild, cyclical CPU spiking in VEP5 (OS X) build 5.3.13151 and Pro Tools HD 11.1.3. 

    The "Total" CPU meter is jumping between 5 and 50% both in stop and play in the Session I'm currently working on. If I make all the instances of VEP inactive the spiking stops.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Dave,

    In PT11, it´s important  to make sure that you have activated Dynamic Plug-in Processing in Setup/Playback Engine!

    Does that help?

    If not, which plug-ins are you using within VE PRO?

    Thanks for the speedy reply. 

    Dynamic Plug-in Processing was activated. I'm using mostly Kontakt, a few instances of Vienna Instrument in VEP5 on the same Mac as PT and a PC running 8 instances of EW Play in VEP5.

    I think I've solved the issue. Previously setting VE Pro to 4 threads gave me the best performance. Since I've updated to PTHD 11.1.3 it seems a setting of 1 or 2 threads is much better. CPU usage is very stable and the spiking seems to have gone!
