I'm wondering if many other people are still experienceing the problem with GS3 legato instruments not functioning correctly. I recently rebuilt 2 systems and am still having the problem myself on both machines. All I want to know is if the problem is being addressed by the programmers.

This only applies to GS3's version of legato instruments.

Check out this thread...

http://community.vsl.co.at/viewtopic.php?t=3648

But this is the problem in a nutshell as posted by JBacal in that thread...

Let's say I press down a "C" on my keyboard then I press down a "G" while still holding down then "C." This correctly triggers the legato sample for "G" but as soon as I stop pressing down the original "C" note on my keyboard the "G" immediately stops playing (stops making sound) even though I'm still holding down the "G" key.

Does this make sense?

It's as if the note off value of the first note is wrongly turning off the second note too.

That will be fixed in a future patch update. That is one of my personal tasks to help the programers get that working right. Unfortunately it does not occur on all system, including mine.

Glad to hear that it is being looked at, Dave. I've experienced the same problems with the VSL legato demos and GS3, and have yet to fully enjoy what VSL legato has to offer (and I'm currently evaluating which library to buy.)

Is there any info I can provide that could help narrow your search for a solution? Maybe a .txt file from the midi monitor while playing the samples?

Regards,

David
