  • Why are the default keyboard ranges always shorter than maximum allowable?

How come, for every patch in the slot racks, I have to extend the keyboard range to it's maximum range? This is extremely time-consuming. Are those notes outside the sample ranges and therefore pitch-stretched? Can't find any mention of the reason in the documentation, which would be nice in the future. Thanks team.

  • Every insturment is prvided with it's playable range. I hardly think that needs to be mentioned in the documentation...

  • umarekawaru,

You are correct by assuming that "extra" notes in the extreme low and highs are stretched - not real sampled. It was made available only as a matter of convenience, if someone lacks a few crucial notes, and would rather compromise realistic playback for the needed effect (of course its alright in some circumstances). But naturally - the default notes are the real samples, within real ranges, as played. And VSL musicians have extended ranges too, I personally never hit that ceiling in my writing.
