i looked through this forum but did not see anything on this topic. I am getting many stuck notes and dropouts in GS3...any library. I am running 3.0 currently. I had heard people going to 3.2 but moving back to 3.0 because of dropouts and stuck notes. GS 3.0 is unusable to me right now. Anyone know what is up....tascam says no else complains about this.

I have only had stuck notes in version 3.02, and I was able to remove this as a problem by setting the sequencer to 99% duration for slurred notes. It's only a work around and this problem and the problems with MIDI program changes all point to a fault in the MIDI processing engine, where some commands are missed by GS3 - like a note off command or a program change. Certainly the program change issue has been reported to Tascam, and I hope if they get that right then GS3 will process all MIDI messages correctly.

I too get some stuck notes in 3.00 -- didn't notice it until recently, so I don't know what has caused it. But definitely there are midi problems hidden in GS3, probably causing both the patch/bank change problems and the stuck notes problems.

Quote:.tascam says no else complains about this. That's because you have to call them on the telephone at your own cost to complain! There's no evidence that email reaches anyone, and the support web page is a very-outdated joke.

Yeah, I get stuck notes on all versions of Giga 3 Orchestra. I thought it was just me. Also, on tied notes in Sibelius, notes often just cut off way too soon for no apparent reason. Is this better with 3.0 than 3.2? thanks, Mike

Told them about the problem and received an email saying that the problem has been addressed fixed in 3.03 coming out soon.

I've noticed the cut-off note problem as well. Interestly, it always happens around ~1/2 second into the playback, which I believe is the point at which the streaming is supposed to kick in. Is that the case for everyone else? Might be a clue to the bug...
Anyhow, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if 3.03 fixes the problem.
