    Hi,

here is a small work on baroque strings in slow mouvements, which is really more difficult to achieve than on faster ones...

    Siciliana - J.S.BACH Harpsichord concerto BWV 1053

    Best.

    Philippe

  • More difficult yes, but your production proves (again) not impossible... very fine sounding baroque-style strings in there...

  • Hi Phillipe,

Much more difficult indeed. Besides the greater emotional depth in such works, textures tend to be a lot thinner which exposes every minute detail. I find programming for strings difficult, baroque strings very difficult and slow baroque strings virtually impossible. When I listen to recordings of such works I am always suprised by the expressive way violinists phrase and balance even the simplest chord.

If I listen to your work, I think that the string chords in the solo section need attention. In my ears they are way too static and do not really support the otherwise excellent performed and sounding cembalo.

    Kind regards,

      Martijn
