  • trouble with aux channels in Logic

    Hi everyone

I'm fairly new to VE Pro and trying to figuring out all nuances (and basics)

The latest problem I've encountered is this:

I have a multioutput VE Pro instance loaded onto a software instrument track in Logic. The Instance has several outputs coming from it (i.e. multiple aux channels in Logic so I can process them individually).

This all works great, BUT, once I add aux channels from the software instrument in the Logic mixer window, only the first midi channel of each midi port in use plays back, no matter what external midi track I have selected.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I've set up instruments like this before with multiple aux channels in Logic and it worked fine, don't know what is diferent abt this one.

btw, Is there a way to add pictures from my computer to this post if anyone is interested?

    thanks for the help!

    Dylan

  • Hi Dylan !

In Logic, the main window channels correspond to the VE Pro MIDI channels (you already know this part) but the mixer window channels correspond to the VE Pro audio outputs â€” i.e. the OUT X/OUT Y  â€” you can find at the bottom of the VE Pro channel strips (just above the channel name).

When you add a channel in the Logic mixer window (by clicking on the "+" button), you can see VnEn3-4 at its top (or VnnEns3-4). It means that the audio coming out of the OUT 3/OUT 4 goes in this channel. You just have to match the VE Pro output and the Logic input numbers.

  • Hi Groctave

Thank you for clearing that up

The problem seems to have gone away after I closed and reopened the file. Not sure why it was acting the way it was, b/c I thought I followed your explaination properly, but it isn't causing problems anymore so I guess we're fine!

    Cheers,

    Dylan
