  • Server can't see a slave

i'm in the middle of a project and suddenly the server can't see the slave in VEP. Network sharing works as usual and both can access internet. What should I try? I'm using Cubase 7.5 on Windows 8.1 and the slave has Windows 7.

  • It seems that VEP stopped broadcasting the slave instances for no apparent reason. I can connect manually but that is a pain with dynamic addresses and several instances. Any suggestions?

  • You should be using fixed IP. I know that doesn't help you now, but once you change to that system, you won't get this problem again.

  • I know fixed IP would be better for VEP but that would either prevent me from accessing internet or force me to buy a router. I've been using this exact setup for almost a year now and haven't run into this problem.

  • Hi,

Try the following: Deactivate the Firewalls on your Windows Machine (you can discconnect from the internet to do this).

Then make sure that these ports are open:

    - 6472 (TCP)

    - 6473 (TCP)

    - 6474 (UDP)

    - 6475 (UDP)

    - 6476 (UDP)

    - 6477 (UDP)

    1) Click "Start" and type "fire" in the search window

    2) choose "Firewall with Advanced Security"

    3) Click "Inbound Rules" in the upper left corner of the window

    4) Click "New Rule".

    5) Choose "Port", then "TCP" in the next window, and enter the ports.

Do the same for the UDP ports.

    Does that help?
    Best,
