Greetings! I'm considering moving from regular Pro Tools 11 to Pro Tools 11 HD (on either native or hdx hardware) and would like to hear from users who have done the same thing. My question is, does Pro Tools HD offer improvements for working with VE Pro (as opposed to regular PT non-HD) ?
Here are some of the PT 11 (non-HD) issues I'm hoping to solve:
1. Audio dropouts from slave when PT buffer is set below 128
2. Midi performance latency (because of PT buffer needing to be set so high)
3. Problems offline bouncing. VI instruments fall out of time.
4. Lots of toggling between "delay compensation" and "low latency monitoring" needed to keep things in time.
5. Stems sometimes sound out of time or "late."
If you are a Pro Tools 11 HD user, have you found that these issues are solved? If not, please let me know your experience.
Here is my configuration:
Using VE Pro 5 on a Mac Pro (2009 "Nehalem") 2.66 GHz quad-core intel xeon, 24GB ram, RME Raydat, Burl Audio ADC, Cranesong HEDD, Pro Tools 11 (non-HD)
Slave: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz, 32GB Ram
