  • Expression Maps and CC1

    Hi there,

I´ve just installed the SE expression maps in Cubase 8 Pro but now I can´t control the velocityXF of my instruments anymore. I used to assign this to the Modulation Controller. If I turn the Modwheel now nothing happens in vienna instruments. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Have you assigned the mod wheel in the presets you are using with the expression maps?

  • Hello neumanda!

CC1 (Modulation Wheel) is already used for switching articulations on the Y-Axis and therefore included in the Expression Maps for the Special Edition and Special Edition PLUS. Cubase excludes Control Changes that are included in Expression Maps from live processing. That's why CC1 doesn't work in your example. In most cases it wouldn't be a good idea to have CC1 control articulation switches and Velocity X-Fade at the same time anyway. I would use a different controller for Velocity X-Fade.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thanks!! I've now reprogrammed my modwheel to be CC2 and it works properly. The Y-Axis is controlled by the expression map with CC1.
