  • reinstalling library

trying to reinstall my dimension-brass-library after my pc crashed down, the installer gives the message "folder is not writable", no matter which folder i choose (there are options "choose existing folder" or "create new folder"). the e-licenser is up to date and the fixing-tool says "ok" for all. so, what could be the problem? thanks for any answers.

  • Hi,

Did you check the permissions? Also, did you try on a different drive yet?

  • thank you, this was helpful. i remember now, that it has to do with the permission-settings. it would be helpful, if it was anounced, when opening the installer, that it has to be opened with administrator-rights.

  • How do I just re-install a single instrument? I want to re-install my Tuba (from Brass I), which I accidentally removed when trying to free up some ssd space.

  • Hi jbm,

I'm afraid that's not possible if you have a whole collection of VI Instruments. You will need to download/install the whole collections and then keep what you need.

  • just a comment, since i can see "C:\Program Files (x86)" selected as destination to install content - this is not a good idea since this folder (and several other system related folders) have special permissions.

if possible select even another volume (D:\, E:\;...) or at least create a new folder C:\Content or so ...

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
