  • Instrument used in demo tune

Which Vienna Instrument is that drum at the beginning of Beat Kaufmann's Flying Aah's tune?

I have tried all of the Timpani matches, and none seem to match it...

    Hi johncmurphy

I will "reinstall" this demo during the coming weekend for getting the truth. It is long ago since I did it...

For me it sounds like Timapani B so far - probably treated with an EQ. But as I mentioned above I will check it out.

    Till later...

    All the best

    Beat

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: It is Timpani B, the articulation UB4 (UpBeat4).

The Effects I used: An EQ and a Compressor (jpg) and Panner. Finally the Timpanisound runs through a depth called "far" (The VSL Convolutionreverb with the IR of the Vienna Konzerthaus grosser Saal).

    That's the sound (mp3)

    A) Timpani B only panned & and compressed

    B) ...with A) and EQ

    C) ...with A), B), and ConvolutionRev.

  • That's perfect, and I thank you for such a clear explanation of your process. You are an excellent teacher.
