  • VI Pro missing control changes

I've noticed that VI (2.4.13477) can miss control changes if they're immediately preceded by program changes. If I switch the order, and send the control change first, followed by the program change, it works as expected. This is on Yosemite 10.10.2.

  • Hi jbm,

Please send a simple song to support@vsl.co.at that shows both cases, we´ll check asap (include a reference to this thread).

    Best,

  • Hi Paul,

Sorry for the delay. I discovered the problem running my own "ManuScore" software, where I can specify at a ms level which comes first (i.e., since I have the source code!)... But I'm not sure how to specify this in another platform/DAW (can't do it in Sibelius). I can try faking the same idea in Logic next week, but I don't have time right now.

Actually, maybe you (or Andi) can answer another (perhaps related) question? I've reverted back to Sibelius 7.1.3 recently, due to a problem they've introduced in 7.5 with trill playback. What I'm noticing now is that legato sometimes plays back correctly and sometimes just plays silence. In the VI, what happens is that it chooses the first Matrix—in this case SS_Cello_Basic_L2 (which isn't actually the "Performance" matrix)—and selects an emtpy row at the end of the matrix (corresponding to CC 1, >105). So I don't get anything at all. At other points in my score, legato plays fine. So it's quite mysterious (but maybe a similar problem to my thread topic?). Is that empty row in the "Basic" matrix supposed to be there, btw?

Anyway, I'm using the latest soundset installer from the VSL site, choosing the Vienna House Style, and using the VE Strings soundset, with preset: -Sibelius/Strings 3.1/Solo Strings/SS I - extended/...Sib_SS_Cello_L2.

    thanks,

    J.
