    Hello, 

    I recently upgraded to latest MIR and VE Pro (5.4.13670) and also sometime ago moved all my samples to internal 1TB Samsung EVO 840, separate drive from system drive. Now it seems my old and new projects seem to load really long time, like reasonably simple orchestra setup with Teldex MIR and no internal VST SFX in VE Pro took 12 minutes. Starting 64-bit server and scanning licenses doesn't take very long though. Preload buffer is lowest possible and when loaded, samples playback just fine, especially when using slightly higher buffer through RME Fireface UC.

    Opening projects used to be way way much faster when I had Crucial m4 512GB for samples (it was formatted NTFS), but it's hard to imagine it could Samsung's fault as it is double the speed of Crucial. Also, when I'm loading a new batch, it seems quite slow, at least double what I remember.

    I'm using Nuendo 6.5.40 in OSX Mavericks, 16GB RAM, in 15" MBP late '11.  

    Any ideas?

    Samsung EVO 840 has some serious issues with the firmware which causes it to slow down drastically. I actually had to return mine. Is it up to date?

    Both my EVO's seem to have the latest firmware EXT0BB6Q. Read speeds are high, over 500MB/sec, but this is hard bug to test out really, because it seems to affect only older files, which I cannot speed test. So, it may be that the drive with only VSL samples is getting "old" and needs to be fixed with Samsung Restoration tool. I'll do it and see how it goes after. Goddamn!
