  • Video about an orchestra mix with samples

    Hi all

There was a competition for finding a new national anthem in Switzerland 2014.
Because I failed with my song I may now use my music for myself. So I decided to use it for a video about the mix of the orchestra (accompaniment).

The video mainly shows the plan I made first. After that I tried to achieve the positions acoustically (without MIR).

Even if the video is in German (indeed Swiss German) you don't need to understand any word up from 01:28...

Accompaniment of my suggested "New Swiss National Anthem" (start at 01:28 for having no blabla)

This Video is just for fun so I hope you will have it.

BTW: Here you have "my stage" of the video as a PDF - for drawing your own orchestra(s)...

  • That's about how I felt with the VSL-HMW competition .. (swear loudly!), always good to find new and better uses for stuff you pour effort into. Great vid (even though I'm not sure what you're saying :P) and an interesting combination .. I think I'll try some of this myself. Sorry to hear your song didn't make it, but at least it's serving a good and useful purpose eh. I thought it was pretty good, though I'll admit I'm not quite sure what the current Swiss Anthem is.

    Hi Hetoreyn

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video

The melody of our current hymn is in fact not the reason why one is searching for a new Swiss Anthem (even if it is played in slow 3/4). It is the text - a prayer which has nothing to do with Switzerland except the mountains which are mentioned in it. In addition: This prayer is a long (and old) text which nobody knows when it comes to sing the Anthem (see our football teams).

But even if I wrote a chorus - a refrain - I suspect that it was my text as well which let fail my hymn.

Currently there are now 7 new hymn proposals left - 4 of them with the "old" melody but another text... They will be published on TV during 2015 so that the crowd can vote. But the jury only will propose the new hymn to the government when after 3 more years the new hymn really is in use out there...

About my playback: I wanted to show, that the melody can be accompanied by a brassband (national holiday), that it also can sound nice with a pop band and finally of course that it also sound great with choir and orchestra.

With the video I wanted to show, that the melody is also usable for running up our flag.

That's all about the new Swiss Anthem.

    Happy Music

    Beat

    Great video !

I particularly liked, when talking about what you need for creating such a mix, when you said "knowhow" ðŸ˜Š.

    Hi Stephane

You soon will get the knowhow as well 😊. I just added the melody with some solo instruments and now I'm writing a tutorial which explains every single step of the mix in the video...  of course with context...

I believe that this tutorial will be ready for download by the end of July this year...

    All the best
