The first movement is now completed:

    1. Allegro con brio

This completes the concerto. Thank you.

    Wayne

The final movement is now complete:

    3. Rondo Allegro from the Horn Concerto in C Major

I will post the first movement (in sonata allegro form) hopefully soon.

    Thank you.

This is the second movement of my horn concerto. I am working on the rondo next then will finish with the first movement. This piece was composed about 10 years ago...I am just now getting around to voicing it with VSL:

    2. Tempo di Minuetto from the Horn Concerto in C Major

    Thanks,

    Wayne

P.S. This movement happens to be scored in F for contrast to the opening movement in C and the rondo also in C.

  • Hi Wayne,

I'm really enjoying your your music and it's great to hear some of your older pieces being brought to life with the new VSL touch. Congratulations on this and your other works.

    Regards,

          Tom

  • Thanks for the comment Tom. It's been a lot of enjoyment working on these pieces for me...I'm flattered that others also find them enjoyable to listen to! I'm presently working on the third and first movement of the horn concerto which will complete that work and then the first and second movement of my fifth symphony to complete that work. Thanks again.

The third movement (rondo allegro) is now complete:

    3. Rondo Allegro from the Horn Concerto in C Major.

    Thank you.

  • A big round of applause. I love the way you handle the orchestra and bring your solo instrument in the front. Distinct, clear and detailed. Beautiful!!!

Thanks for sharing (this and all the other wonderful pieces),

    Max

  • Thank you kindly Max. I really do work to bring the solo instrument out cleanly. In concerti, it's obvious what instrument is to be featured. But even in symphonic works, I always attempt to highlight the instrument (or instruments) that has the melodic thought at that point in the piece. Not everyone would necessarily agree as to the "amount" that my solos are highlighted since that is such a personal thing. But it is very welcoming to receive compliments on hours of work... and also, to receive critique from colleagues! I have improved my VSL performance skills from both the affirmations and the criticism: both contribute to improving my VSL performance skills.

I have been composing for over 50 years. I have been "performing" (with VSL) for just a year or two. Its obvious to me where to spend my music time. I just hope I continue to show performance progress.

I am presently working on the performance of the opening movement to the horn concerto... I hope to complete it in a couple weeks. Thanks again Max!
