  • Sounds cutoff if app not in focus

    Hello,

I'm able to reproduce this 100% of the time, so I'm hoping you can too.

I just upgraded my sample computers to Yosemite and I have the latest version of VEPRO 5 installed.  On one of my slave machines I also run Video Slave - an app from Non-Lethal Applications that runs video via MTC.

When I load up my template, and I put Video Slave in Full screen mode (in fact just having it selected causes the bug too) the instruments in VEP on that computer play and then cut off about a second later.  But as soon as I select VEP meaning that it is in focus, or is the "Selected Application" all sounds play fine.

My current work around is to minimize VEP so that it is in focus, but I can still see the video and go from there.. but I shouldn't have to do this..

Can you see if you can replicate the issue?  It doesn't have to be Video Slave.  I can have Safari open, and it still does it.  Every time.  and as soon as I select VEP, sounds play normally.. 100% of the time.

Thank you very much for any info!

  • Hello J,

This sounds like an App Nap issue...

Please try and manually deactivate App Nap for all versions of VE Pro - does that make a difference?

    Best, Marnix

  • YES!!!! wow... That was dumb.. I'm new to Yosemite.. been on Snow Leopard for awhile, until I got my new mac, then upgraded everything.. interesting feature they have there.. but not useful in a studio!! ha..
