  • What's the best way for U.S. customers to order?

What's the best way for U.S. customers to order these days? The VSL website works well, but the prices are higher than U.S. retailers. Is Ilio.com the official VSL representative in the states?

Anyway, I've had multiple problems with Ilio over the years with poor customer service, and I would prefer to not do business with them again. They seem like a fly-by-night operation. They don't answer their phones and you're just transfered to voice mail. Email info requests are answered slowly. If others have gotten the service I've gotten, they're really doing VSL a disservice.

I know that places like Sweetwater and B&H also have VSL products listed. But can they handle upgrades? That's the problem I had the other day with Ilio. I wanted to get the Dimesion Brass II but upgrade to the Vienna Super Package in the process. There's no way to do that on the Ilio website, and no one seemed to be home at Ilio (during their normally advertised business hours). I gave up and just ordered through the VSL website at the higher price (before the offers expired).

It would be nice if there were another option in the U.S. besides Ilio that could handle upgrades. Everything about VSL products is first rate. They deserve a first rate representative in the U.S.

  • Hello Lee,

You can order your products at any dealer you like, or directly at our US distributor www.ilio.com

I´m very surprised about your remarks with ILIO, their staff is super-friendly and really knows our products well.

All dealers can handle upgrades, they have accees to our dealer interface, and the calculation is done automatically.

Super-last-minute orders (musicians seems to love these) are always a bit tricky (especially when the 31st is a friday), with different time-zones and so forth, but you can ALWAYS contact our sales team at sales@vsl.co.at, we´ll sort it out for you for sure.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hmm...

Interesting,  I've always had pretty good service with Ilio.  Granted, I haven't ordered that much from them but I've been satisfied with the customer service they've given me.

You could try ADK Proaudio.com    http://adkproaudio.com/

I always buy my systems through them and I have to say that I've never had an issue with their systems.  I still use a system they built and sold me back in 2007.  I haven't bought any sample libraries or software from them in about three years, nothing downloadable only hard disc mail orders, so I can't vouch for them on that but what business I have done with them has left me satisfied.

It's best to call them directly rather than order from their site as they tend to do deals and discount over the phone.  The only thing is they're a small mom and pop type operation out of Kentucky so when they're swamped things slow down a bit.

  • Thanks, Paul.

If other U.S. retailers that carry your products have the same access to the info for doing upgrades, I'm all set. I know they'll always pick up the phone at places like Sweetwater during business hours. Anyway, I own everything you have out for now, so I'm taken care of for the moment. ;)
