  • Harp 1 Glissandos

Haven't used this harp library for a while, but just noticed the Maj7th glissandos only have 5 patches which seem to be Bmaj7th, C#(Db) maj7th, EMaj7th, F#(Gb)Maj7th and G#(Ab)Maj7th. Am I missing something in my library? How do you get a GMaj7th glissando?

This seems to be the case the minor 7th as well. Can someone please let me know what I'm dong wrong here?

  • Hello Garehead!

You don't miss anything. Some Maj7th glissandos can be performed and some can't beacuse of the pedal system of the harp.

You could use the "normal" patch instead and perform your own glissando.

    Best regards,

  • Andi,   thanks for pointing that out. I've studied harp a little but not indepth enough apparently :)

Manual glissandos, yikes! Think I'll use F# and pitch shift it.

    Thanks again,

  • It is not that hard to perform a manual glissando! Do a glissando with only the white keys with your palm or your fingers, then use the piano-roll editor to change the notes, for example all f in all octaves to f#.

Gmaj is not possible, the closest you can get is G-A-B-B-D-E-F#, or, G-A-B-B-D-E-E (which would be G6/9, but its less of a cluster than the other one)
