  • Renaissance and Baroque instruments

It would be nice if the wonderful people at VSL could sample instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, like the lute and the viol sometime in the future. Interest in these instruments picked up again in the 20th century and is still going today (I think).

The lute produces a ravishing, rich sound and the viol produces a darker, richer sound than its brighter-sounding cousin the violin. It would be nice to hear these instruments in VSL hands. Of course, I'm not pushing you to do it now. It's just a request. Other early instruments would also be welcome.

Kind regards and a big Congratulations! to the VSL people.

I agree, I would love to see instruments like this from VSL. Lute, viol, baroque guitar, zither, dulcimer ... perhaps Schalmei or Crumhorn to go with the recorders ... Sackbutt? 😊

Of course a lot of these things have already been sampled by different developers, but never with the degree of detail and quality VSL is known for. What a treat that would be!

  • Yes, totally agree.

Baroque & Renaissance Instrument Libraries would be Awesome !

  • Lute lib would be very nice. I surely would buy It.

  • Renaissance and Baroque instruments would be fine.
What's even more urgent than crumhorn and lute is sackbut, as it's more and more used in pre-romatic music where modern trombones are simply too loud.
