  • Music for Ballet

    Hello, I'm new in this forum. I'd like to share my music with all of you.

    If you were so kind I'd like to know your opinion about tecnical aspects.

    Of course all instruments are VSL and MIR pro

    Both pieces are excellent compositions and orchestrations. I really like them. If I had to choose, I would slightly prefer Gustar6, I don't know why.

    Do you have a reason to keep the room so narrow? The size of the orchestra could use some more openness, a little bit extra convolution reverb. Now it sounds pretty 'dry'. But that's probably your preference. Nothing wrong with it.

    Gustar7 is the "happy end" of the ballet so I chose a romantic taste. Perhaps, It's more standard.

    It was the first time thay I used MIR. It is always a problem to me how much reverb I have to aply.

    I'll try with another size of rooms.

    Can't tell if I'm listening to a room-amount revised version of Gustar_6, indeed it sounds almost spacey at the moment, but also as if it was miked in a distance, instead.

    Anyway, fine music, fine orchestration and exquisite use of VSL as I can see from here.

    This is a beautiful and evocative piece.  Very expressive and tender melodic ideas, The music expresses the dramatic and oceanic feeling beautifully. 

    I recommend that others set the max listening volume from around 3:00, you'll enjoy the beginning more!  Wide dynamic range!

    No, I meant that around 3 minutes into the piece, the piece reaches its maximum perceived RMS volume.

    So, if the listener adjusts their listening volume so that the loudest part of the composition sounds full and powerful, without being too loud or harsh, the opening of the piece, which is much softer, will retain its clarity and proportion to the remainder of the piece.  It's a tip on how to set listening volume based on the dynamic range of the piece...
