  • Daw for V.E Pro with 4+ Slaves

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help or offer some advice.

I am currently using Logic X 10.2 as my main DAW with 4 slave machines running VE Pro. The slave machines are working fine and are not anywhere near exceeding their limits of CPU, Ram and HD speed. My issue us that when using the entire setup in action, Logic seems to process all incomming audio channels on 1 core. After searching online, I saw that this is just the way it processes information which is rather annoying as my main machine has 8 cores.

Please correct me if you think what I've written is incorrect.

Anyway, I wanted to know if Cubase has this one-core mandtory recording setup as well. I suppose it doesn't matter too much when using one slave but when you're using over 3 slaves, this becomes a serious consideration. I'm racking my brains to try and get these slaves to work the way they should and would appreciate any advice anyone could give.

Again, VE Pro and the slaves are working fine with Logic to a point but the one-core recording thing on Logic is squeezing the input and I'm not sure what to do about it to make things work better in this multiple slave setup, including changing operating systems.

Many thanks to anybody who can help.

There are a couple of ways to overcome the one core spike. Yes you might just holding it wrong. Kidding aside. How did you setup your project?
