Hello all,
as you can see on my Sgnature below the Orchester Strings (short OS) are my latest purchase. Now I have enough Strings for the Rest of my life ;-D ... VSL if you are looking for a Christmas-present for me ... look below to the Signaturefield ;)
First of all: The OS-package in combination with Dimension Strings is just brilliant. The OS-possibilities are even bigger when you mix the different Stringsounds (Ponticello, Muted and Normal in Combination. Great Possibilities, big sound! I was a little bit surprised, that there are no muted Basses. But no Problem, I solve this by doubeling the Chamber Strings 2 Basses + Solo Strings 2 Basses.
Now a question: the articulations like Ponticello, Tremolo-Dynamics, Runs etc. ... can you say that this definately won't come for Dimension Strings? Since we all saw how long programming of DS 1 took, a NO would not surprise me, but it is a little hard to match the "bigger articulations-products" with DS.
One question to Overdrive: As far as I understand it is recorded effected ... so a use with Amplitube 4 is not possible ... Right?

Hello Lars,
Congrats to getting the Orchestral Strings - glad you like them!
Regarding additional articulations, I can only say at this point: Never say never.
Overdrive is actually great to work with added effects... We used Amplitube like crazy on this one.

Doesn't Dimension Strings already have runs with their performance trills?

Hmm ... You can of course improvise and create artificial articulations like dynamics by using Vel X Fade or runs by using fast-performance-Samples .... But ponticello-Sound f.ex. can't be faked. Maybe you can create somehow a "sounds like" with an EQ. But it is not the same.

There are no special recorded run samples. But I don't miss them at all. You can play DS at any speed without a problem. Works with normal legato and performance trills as well. To get the blur effect in higher speeds I made a matrix cell with extreme random detunings in the humanize slots. This matrix cell is selected when playing faster. Sounds beautiful.

Hmm I guess for my purposes the performance trills sort of ARE runs.
