  • VI : the interface is too small!

VI (PRO or not) is a beautiful thing, but I want to emphasize a point a long time: the interface is too small! Designers, you still have good eyes too ... but you will grow old one day! With 30-inch screens and more, even if it remains well defined, it gets really tiny. The solution is the vector, I think (many new plug-ins as well). We need to stretch! Or at least swell the typo.

    Hello Claude Marc,

Already on the to-do list. Not a trivial task, but as you can see with Vienna Suite Pro, we´re heading there.

  • Yes, I imagine you also wait a revised version.

The important points (for me) would be, in bulk:

    • 1) can stretch or a full screen version.

    • 2) a better explanation of what the sequencer can do (I admit I misunderstands the personnement). The microscopic size does not help (no, I am not myopic, but it should help the eyes: they work hard in our cathodic world).

    • 3) a reset function. For, if the sample changes, the manual configurations remain the same. It could be reset. Personally, I made myself a preset "0", but the function should be. I do not know anything?

    • 4) In the advanced view, right, in the cells (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, etc.), the ability to take a sample and drop it in another Slote with drag and drop. Copying and pasting is long and inconvenient.

    • 5) In the tab VOICES (extraordinary creative function!), Allow for the addition in memory of "User set-up" on your "factory set-up," or another way to store the configuration of the vote (with the inside of a configuration of instruments). I know I can save with the general menu: string-voices-54A config1, 2, 3, or something, but it would be nice to have a specific memory here. We try many different patterns for each instrumental set-up and we get lost.

    • 6) On the left column menu of instruments able to open all the folder and subfolder (the entire tree). For now, open a new subfolder previous farm. Stretching or full screen should help automatically on this point, as for the complete view of the keyboard.

    • 7) Establish (if technically possible) connectivity with MIR PRO (as currently with Mixx). PRO version MIR should include the functions of a lower version. "What makes the most should do less." But perhaps I forget an existing function, I do not know.

    • 8) I wonder if the basic and advanced views should not be integrated into a single window. I do not find that the separation is very helpful.

I hope to be helpful here. and... f
    orgive my broken English!

  • Only to mention it, Claude is not the only one who's waiting for this. It's quiet impossible to read these small numbers and letters.

This is an important task! The software is actually not usable like this. Please push this on top of the TODO-list. Thank you very much.

    Best, Peter

  • Perhaps people just need to wear their glasses... Works for me!

This is very encouraging! Any update?

  • You're very right - and updates do not seem to happen. Elsewhere, I posted the following "fix" that makes Windows show the VSL with blown up pixels. This works similar to, but much better than (magnifying) glasses:

"Here's perhaps a better fix: find the Vienna Ensemble.exe (mine in program files > vienna), right click, properties, compatibility tab, select Override high DPI scaling behaviour, and change to System or System Enhanced. Now the application will be blown up by a factor defined by system. I believe this is somewhat new, perhaps a Creator's Update or so. It's less than ideal, obviously, as things won't look as crisp as they would on real scaling; basically we're just doubling pixels here. But for everybody who doesn't have laser-eyes, or wants to use an analog/digital magnifier, it works much better."

The problem is, presumably, that the whole GUI was created on windows without such vector based designs as the OP suggests. So, until the entire GUI is remade for VIProPLUS!, it would be a lot of work for relatively few users to do anything about at the moment. Anyway, the above way works and has been the *only* way I have been able to successfully cope with Vienna Instruments / VE / VIP on a HiDPI screen.

    Hope it helps.

    Best,
