  • Auto-save when instance is decoupled?

Just had my first big crash with VE Pro decoupled from Live. Fortunately I remembered the patch names/settings so I recovered it manually.

Would you guys consider implementing auto-save (user-defined timing) for decoupled instances so that if my project crashes I don't have to worry about recovery?

Additionally if you had sandboxing of plugins, kontakt 5 crashing wouldn't have brought down VE Pro along with it. :)

  • Just save your Metaframe manually. Then re-load it as necessary. If you need to tweak it, use automation. Then everything is recallable in the case of a crash, even when decoupled.

What I mean is, auto-save would save me a step of doing this manually. Just like how DAWs have auto-save VE Pro could also have it.

Just a suggestion, this doesn't break anything. 😊

Yes, I understand, but it would only work if it saved at the exact moment that it crashed. Any other time would still not save the state of all the plugs, which is why I'm suggesting automation and a Metaframe. That way VEP saving or not saving would be irrelevant.

BTW I have nothing against an autosave, except that I can't see that it is of any use. 😉
