-a little footnote, there is no panning in this piece, it is just various players alternating parts. The rat is moving in different places....

  • Oh maaaan! Sadly, it says "ERROR, NOT FOUND" when I try to go to this link :-( If I'm not in error (maybe it's my broser), I hope this is fixable--can't wait to hear iut, as I'm about to take the plunge, loll! Thanks Guy!!! Your pieces are amazing!!!

  • My apology, it's currently being re-mixed.

    and thank you!

  • Thanks Guy! Can't wat to hear it! All the best, man!

  • Will repost it as well as a new con sordino demo very soon.

    Cheers!

    Guy

  • New demo posted, enjoy!

  • Stunning work Guy!!
The composition is beautiful and the string sound is gorgeous and sensitively played.

    You are a true artist....

  • I don't know what I like the most, the beautiful sound of Dimension Violins II, or the music that they play. How beautiful is this!

  • Guy, that is so good! I was instantly hypnotized and couldn't maintain a critical attitude.  The dynamics, espressivo,  the pauses, the delicate transparent scoring,  all fabulous.  This is better than most film music now being composed by big shots who couldn't do this.  I love it.

  • Thanks all for the very kind comments!

One more demo added. It was the first demo I had done for the con sourdino violins, but made changes since.

    Midnight Blues

  • Guy,

These additional ones are also brilliant, so musically expressive and in the most difficult area to do that - transparent scoring.  All the themes are really fine as well, not just the perfect orchestration.  I am amazed by what you're doing.    I recently listened to the "Tuba Holiday" - that is such a great use of the tuba.  Many players would love it.  But all of your demos are so imaginative and filled with real expression.  Congratulations on all these which are more than just demos, but have become a great outlet for your fine music.

  • Wow William, thanks, very kind!  It's always interesting to see that with more appropriate writing, in this case for con sordino, the result is much more effective, whether it's virtual or live. I'll have to listen to Tuba Holiday, so far back...   but I appreciate the nice words and for the ensemble of my demos compliment. Again thanks!

Here is a 4th demo for con sourdino violins, this one dedicated to staccatos, pizz mainly, in a more chamber style with a Herrmann influence.

    "Unexpected Recursions"

    Unexpected Recursions

  • Guy!

    You are AMAZING!!!!!!

I wanted to let you know that I attended the VSL event in Los Angeles last night, and heard--in a large room with a great sound system (two giant Genelcs)--your OCEAN SUNSET piece... (At least I'm pretty sure that's the one it was... or BLUESY MIDNIGHT?  (My "title recall" brain is mush!) Oh my!!!!!! As a composer AND orchestaror, you are above and beyond!

I, of course, have already listened to your fantastic demos. But hearing that piece of yours, in that environment (outside of my "cave," lol!), was breathtaking. An unbeleivable way to showcase the magic of DS II. Three dimensional and riveting, throughout. KUDOS!!!!!

    Dale

  • Thanks Dale for sharing this, sounds like it was a fun day at NAMM, and glad the muted strings demonstratioon work out well, I got to get myself to attend it next year.

ps Much appreciated the kind words! ;)

  • Any way to get the midi files ?

  • A 5th demo has been added in the list using updated portamento articulation.

  • This is wonderfully expressive and such a fine use of the sounds.  These demos of Guy are way beyond the normal demos, and are like miniature tone poems.
