  • Expand VEP Standalone with server instances on slave computers.

This may seem convoluted at first. However, curiosity prevails!

Is this scenario even possible? Say I have a live rig where VEP Standalone is my primary host and I want to expand this with server instances on slave machines. The only way I've discovered (so far) is to use something like Bidule as the main host and run VEP server instances within it.  It would be cool to allow server plugins to show up as plugins available to Standalone VEP.  Is this not allowed because the vst VEP plugins are VST3 and VEP only loads VST2 plugins? I'm sure the demand for a setup like this is very, very limited. I'm simply asking/verifying that this functionality is currently not possible with VEP Standalone.

Bidule works OK, but it's another layer to manage (almost too limited as well, lacking a decent GUI or functional mixer).  Maybe there are other hosts that would work...

    Ideas are welcome.

    Thanks in advance!
