Hi all,
I'm planning to buid a slave pc for my Logic pro X/VEP iMac Daw.
I have very few experience with PCs...
Budget is limited for now but but I would like to start with something that I could eventually expand/upgrade. (More RAM, More SSD storage...). I really want to build it myself because i want to save money and because i want to learn how to do it. That's my geek side;)
I'm not trying to build a super powerfull DAW but a system powerfull enough for mixing with MIR with a complete orchestral setup. I'm not gonna run everything in the slave, just the orchestral instruments (Mostly VSL and some Kontakts). My iMac is still very capable and it will handle the rest.
I don't need it to be super quiet but the computer will be in the same room as myself for now.
I'm targeting a budget under 2000 Canadian dollars. But I dont need to buy any monitor just the basic system hard drive.
So I've start a part list. but For some of these parts I have no idea if i made a good choice. I will wait for advices before ordering anything.
I don't want to regret any choices or have compatibility problems so that's why i'm asking for advice. And maybe some parts I've choose are too cheap ot too fancy for my needs.

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DKsqxr/by_merchant/
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($376.99 @ SuperBiiz)
I think 6 core is enough and the i7 is a good choice...
CPU Cooler: Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($103.88 @ OutletPC)
I have no idea if this is ok for my system
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($132.98 @ Newegg)
This one supports up to 128GB RAM that's good. But I think the Intel CPU I choose support only 64.
Memory: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($64.99 @ Adorama)
I may buy two of these for starting (32GB)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($149.89 @ OutletPC)
For the sytem drive only. Already have other SSDs
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 380 4GB NITRO Dual-X OC Video Card ($174.99 @ Newegg)
I may not use it at all, I will do remote desktop. So is it a bit overkill for my needs? What are the minimum specs i should apply?
Case: be quiet! SILENT BASE 600 w/Window (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.00 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($44.99 @ Newegg)
I've theard that was important but how much should I pay for the power supply?
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($87.95 @ OutletPC)
I guest that's ok(?)
Total: $1235.66USD (around 1800 Canadian)
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
