  • Kontakt in VE Pro

    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying VE Pro for my system.

My copy of Kontakt 5 doesn't seem to work well with PT8.0.5(It doesn't seem to be accessing all of my RAM even with the memory server activated).

I've a quick question though if someone can answer it for me -

Will a 32 bit instance of VE Pro on a 32 bit OS have access to all my mac's RAM?

If anyone can answer this for me I'd really appreciate it.

    Cheers,

    Darius

  • Darius,

32 bits means limited RAM. 64-bit is the only way to use the full system. And that's not just a 32-bit instance of VEP we're talking about. It's the OS itself. Go 64 all the way, or don't use the RAM basically.

You can run a 32-bit VEP instance on a 64-bit machine and link it up to your DAW. This will allow you to use 32-bit plugins you may be fond of. But that's about the only reason to use 32 bit these days IMO.
