  • Multiport for Logic Pro X :: Note Off leak across ports

I have been searching the forum for an answer to my issue and I am hoping that someone can direct me in the right direction.

I am using the Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 Multiport Templates for Logic Pro X (latest version) to connect to a large VSL library. My issue is that note off messages on a midi channel are not behaving discretely when sent through a port. For example, a C4 note on midi channel 1 port 1 will leak through and send a note off to all C4’s on channel 1 in any of the ports sent to the VE Pro instance. I can not find a work around that uses the multiport. Hope this is clear. Can anyone help?

    Thanks. Ricky.

  • Hi Ricky,

I´m afraid that is one of the very annoying bugs that come with the environment. We cannot really help it, unfortunately. Still hoping for a working AU3 version to come.

  • Do you want me to send a few mesures of your song so I check the Environement, at cb dot pub at numericable dot com

Before you send it check that the bug is still there.

  • Hi Cyril,

Because up until now the features implemented in AU3 do not work as expected. Of course Apple/Logic has been informed about all our findings, and we´re hoping that this will be fixed with upcoming versions of Logic Pro.

Hi Paul, Is Logic 10.2.3 ready for VEP AU3 multiport version or we still have to wait for upcoming versions? Fred

  • Hi,

  • It just means that the if the articulation button is set to Pizz when saving a patche, it Will load with with Pizz selected when loading the saved patche.

  • HI Fred

Where is this articulation button ?

Where is this Smart Control Orchestral ?

  • Load any factory orchestral patche from the library browser (i.e. session Strings)

    check the smart controls.

Those buttons are assigned to Articulations ID.

You can access other Smart Controls layouts in the Smart Controls Inspector too.

This is useless when outside Logic's factory instruments unless you use a Scripter plugin to convert Articulation ID to keyswitch (like ArtzID from peter Schwartz).

  • Hi Fred

    Thanks for your answer.

Does those Articulation ID are passed to the AU ?

Do you know if the articulation ID can be show in the score ? replace the number by a text ?

Is there is a full manual about Scripter ?

    Best

  • The articulations ID is embeded in the note juste like the midi channel Numbers. So In a certain way yes it passes to the AU. But no AU can interpret it. Only EXS24 knows what to do with it. I don't think devellopers have the tools to assign anything to it (yet). So the workaround is to program a script that will translate ArtID to something else with scripter midi plugin . And note that there is no way to convert ArtID in the environnement tranformer. There no way to see ArtID in the score unfortunatly. There is a section for scripter in the plugins manual. But it require that you know some basic Javascript. Or you do like me and spend times analysing other scripts. It works pretty well in fact, I use it everyday.

  • HI Fred

    Thanks

I have beeing looking at the smart controls !!!! could it be a solution ???

The Scripter Manual in Logic plug-in manual is very limited, you dont even have the note parameters names !!! do you know a better manual ?
