Hello,

I'm pretty new to vienna and the software, so I have a basic question on the use of vienna ensemble.

I use only one machine for my work, although I do have a separate hard drive for the sample library.

Is there any advantage, in terms of resource conservation, in useing vienna ensemble if I house my sequencer and vienna ensemble on the same machine?  In other words, would loading say, 16 separate vienna instrument instances - each being its own midi track/channel in my sequencer use more prosessor resources than one instance of vienna ensemble with 16 vi instances?

Does vienna ensemble provide a benefit in conserving resources if you use only one machine?

Thank you.

Mike

VEP usually does a better job of spread the load evenly across your cpu's cores. I know there are samples out there that do not really distribute evenly, VEP cleans that up. Also you have the benefit of keeping your sounds loaded when switching between projects. That alone makes it worth wild :)

Thank you Piano Pete. There certainly is the convenience factor of using ve, as you said.
