  • Default Patch not working Sibelius / Ve Pro / Strings

    Hello,

I have been trying to make the chamber strings (and others) to work with Sibelius. I followed all the steps and when I setup in Sibelius configuration panel and test it, it works well. But as soon as I close the window and I start writting music the patch that plays by default is not the sustain one. Some staff play harmonics, others play pizz...etc.. I imported the house style and I am using the Sibelius patch provided by VSL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  • Are you using the full version of CS or the SE version? They have different presets in VI

  • Hey!

I am using the VSL Chamber Strings from the cube version (I have all App, Orchestral, Chamber and solo).

I do configure Sibelius manual sounds to the proper library and load the proper patch in VE Pro (sibelius).

    Really lost....:(

  • Hello Ramu!

It can have different reasons why the wrong articulation is chosen. Did you check the Troubleshooting chapter of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual? For most such problems, you should be able to find a solution there.

My first guess would be that you may have chosen the wrong instrument from the Sibelius "Add and remove instruments" menu. For the Chamber Strings, you need one of the "[VSL Chamber Strings]" instruments.

    Best,
    Andi
