  • Ensemble pro server mixer too tiny on my new 4K monitor

Since changing my monitor to a 39" with 4K resolution, I have a problem with the way my metaframe mixers appear. They are too small to see. To make them bigger, I have to change my display settings to 300% which makes everything else gigantic as well. I got the monitor to be able to see more things - not just a massive version of one thing.  I haven't noticed this with any other application. Here are a couple of screen shots - one with this site open to give you an idea of how small it is.  I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how I can get the mixer full screen. Thanks!

I don't have a specific remedy to your problem but it looks like you're using a PC?

If you hit Control + the plus (+) button on the number keypad (where the "Num Lock" is) Windows will increase magnification by about 15% or so.  Keep hitting it until it's big enough for you.  When you want to go back to normal magnification hit Control + the minus button (-).

It's just a workaround not a solution but should suffice for now😊

Thanks for responding, Jasen. Your suggestion works very nicely for this browser display, but it doesn't have any effect on my little Vienna mixers. I will have to write to support, I suppose. The workaround I've been using is the settings display - changing that to 300% makes it big (along with everything else, lol).

  • Paul has said that this is being worked on.

Personally, I have no problem with my 40" display...

Good to hear they already know about it, thanks, Bill.  Are you running at a high resolution? I've read that many software vendors haven't really updated their software to handle high DPI and that even Windows 10 has not found a nice workaround to the problem.

I am having the same problem cited below. The Vienna Instruments application is tiny on my 4K screen. I've tried many different settings (while trying to keep 4k). I have a 29 inch ASUS display with a Windows 10 machine. Any pointers on how to resolve this?

  • Over a year later I still have the same problem with a tiny screen. Can someone at Vienna (Paul) give me some idea of a target date for this? Are there just two of us having this problem?

  • Hi,

Unfortunately I cannot provide a target date.

There are a few other high priority tasks we need to fit in within the next months.

I am also working on a 40 inch 4K monitor and find the resolution good to work with.... Temporary magnification is also what I'd use to help out.

    Best,

  • Just bought my first VSL product. Was disappointed to see that is almost unusable on a much smaller than 40" 4K display. Is this still being worked on? Maybe there is a setting I am overlooking, but I can't really see anything unless my face is like 8" from the screen.
