  • VIPro Stacked Instruments and MIR

    Hi,

I created a stacked instrument in VIPro. But, of course, one instrument create only one position in the MIR venue.

If i look at the tutorial video from Paul, for instance, I have a whole Brass section that also has l/r pan settings. What is the gernal workflow with stacked instruments and MIR?

    thx holger

Too old for Rock n Roll. Too young for 9th symphonies. Wagner Lover, IRCAM Alumni. Double Bass player starting in low Es. I am where noise is music.
  • Although the suggested way would be to use a dedicated Icon for each indivdual player, it can make sense to use  busses (a.k.a. "Groups", "Aux-Tracks", etc.) to combine similar instruments to a virtual ensemble and to send this little sub-mix into MIR Pro. Just be aware that the Instrument Profiles of MIR Pro won't fit your combined signal any more, in most cases.

Paul's video refers to recorded ensemble sounds available as Vienna Instrument, most likely. They are handled in a similar way - although with dedicated Instrument Profiles.

    Kind regards,
