  • I keep getting an error Vienna Suite (M6) has caused the following error:

    Hello,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what's happening?  I'm in proTools and I'm using a few plugins from VSL in my project.

I'm using the VSL's Exciter Pro and I think the Vienna Suite Equalizer Pro too.

Pro Tools freezes when this error happens:
    *****************************************************************
    eLicencer Control - Error
Application Vienna Suite (M6) has caused the following error:
DCOM connection to program "Synsopos.exe"failed.  Error: The RPC server is unavailable.

So I made sure and updated to the latest versions of the Vienna Suite plugins and updated eLicenser Control driver and app.  I also switched to new USB ports and still the error persists.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you,

    John

  • Hello John,

That´s a pure eLicenser error message, that points to Vienna Suite (non-Pro).

Do you get that message when you are using other VSL products as well? A restart usually helps, alternatively you can close all eLicenser related programs and terminate the synsopos.exe process in the Task Manager.

  • Hi Paul, Would you suggest me removing the non pro plugins? I upgraded to the latest Version a while back and only use the pro version's now. Would that solve the issue? Edit. If you read the previous message as I hit commit , autoCorrect wrote "you lie" that was not my intention to type LOL John

  • Hi John,

Haha, that would have been a nice start into the day, but I guess I missed that!

Yes, you can try to remove Vienna Suite, let´s see if that makes any difference. And you should run "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center.

    Best,

  • Hi John,

A small caveat: If you really remove Vienna Suite (non-Pro) from your system, please be aware the VS Pro will _not_ automatically replace it in older projects.

    Kind regards,
