  • VEP5 shows no connections after update

    Hey guys,

I just upgraded my Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 software to 5.4.15333 because I was getting a lot of crashes while loading Logic 10.2.4 sessions. I figured it was a plugin that made vep crash, so I updated, otherwise I wouldn't have. I run a mac master with a server on the same mac, and a separate 8 core i7 pc slave. They have both recently been updated to the same version. My problem is that now my old sessions and new templates alike don't connect where they normally would, and with the size of my sessions this is a nightmare. I still have the option of creating a new connection, so I can see the that the software is networked properly, but when I open files none of my old connections exist in any of my old sessions or templates.

What the heck happened and what do I have to do to make it work like it did before the update?? PLEASE tell me I don't need to recreate the connections and the corresponding instruments in every session I've ever used VEP.

  • Same thing happened to me just now: I updated to 5.4.15553 -- using VEPro5 with Logic Pro -- and now Logic won't connect to the server.  This isn't a metaframe, so Logic normally loads the instances into VEPro.

    I'm stuck.

Trying to find an old version of VEPro 5 to download, to go back...

  • Also related to a similar thread: I updated VEPro 5 to 5.4.15553 because VEP kept crashing suddenly with Logic 10x, whatever the current version of Logic is.

  • finding an older version sounds like a good idea and a challenging task all at once. I wonder if updating to vep6 will magically solve the issue... I have no idea what to do or even who to ask!

    Hi,

An older version is available in the Software Archive.

Please use the UNINSTALLER you find in the VE PRO Application Folder before you roll back.

We will provide another version soon.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best,
    Paul
