Using VE pro 5 and 6

Hi

Quick simple question. I intend to upgrade the DAW and slaves to VE Pro 6 soon. In the meantime, will VE PRO 5 and 6 work accross the network? E.g. DAW will be version 6, the slaves are currently on the the latest version 5.

Won't work, all versions have to be identical across the network.

Oh no... I was hoping to expand the slave park and just add more slaves. But that means I have to first upgrade the 3 slaves I currently run to VEP 6 and then buy another set of 3 licenses for new slaves?

It would have been really really fair if VEP 6 had still connected to VEP 5 slaves.

Hi Hans, 

It´s a precaution to prevent complication between different versions. 
VE PRO 6 was re-programmed from scratch, so there are quite some changes "under the hood", which result in a much better performance.

Hi Paul,

I have an equal problem. One of my slave computer is too old to upgrade to VEP 6.

Is there any way I can use VEP 6 on two computers and VEP 5 on the third one?

Respectively, if it's not possible can I downgrade and use VEP 5 again with the licences on the usb stick already upgraded?

Hello Oliva, 

It´s not possible to mix versions between computer, it´s either VE Pro 5 or VE Pro 6. 

As you have upgraded licenses (4+5+6), you can use any version of VE PRO you like.
