  • VEPro 6 and Zynaptiq's Adaptiverb Instability

Current build of VEP6 (6.0.15567) crashes when Zynaptiq Adaptiverb is inserted. It wasn't doing it two versions ago but it is now. I contacted Zynaptiq already and they're looking into it as well.

The setup with the instability: Win7, DP9, Single instance of VEPro, EW Play (this isn't a problem). So, for this project, all I have a 4 minutes piano solo with Adaptiverb for its effect. Here are the symptoms:

Crash 1 - During playback of the song or while editing notes, VEP freezes and I get the "not responding" message. I choose to close VEP and DP is fine.

Crash 2 - While all is running, trying to save the VEP project, I get the "not responding" message.

When I remove the Zynaptiq plugin, everything is all stable which shows that Adaptiverb is trying to do something it can't or shouldn't do. My work-around is to run Zinaptiq in DP...which puts a greater load on the CPU than having it hosted inside of VEP. Not a big deal. Any ideas?

  • Hi Mathematics,

Would be interesting to hear what our colleagues at Zynaptiq are thinking.

When VE PRO is freezing/hanging, you could create a process dump of DP and VE PRO, please see the following image on how to create a minidump with process explorer:

    http://cloud.addictivetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/create-dump-1.pnghttps://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processexplorer.aspx

Send these process dumps to support@vsl.co.at, we will take a look.

    Best,
    Paul
