How many Midi ports in PT with VEP pro 6 slave

I'm using one instance in my VEP pro 6 template and have assigned 48 outputs and midi ports. I see the 48 returns in PT but only 16 midi ports...anyone knows if this is a limitation of VEP and PT ? or I'm I doing something wrong ?

Hello Anhtu, 

That´s how MIDI works: 1 MIDI Port can manage 16 MIDI Channels, and RTAS/AAX can handle multiple MIDI Ports.

Hi Paul, 

i believe you misunderstaood my question. I'm not talking about midi channels but midi ports. As mentioned in my post, when i enable 48 midi ports in VEP, i ONLY see 16 midi ports available in PT. 

On the other hand, in Cubase, i see all the 48 midi ports which corresponds to the number of ports i set in VEP. I guess this is a limitation of PT (max 16 midi ports per instance) or i'm doing something wrong.

Sorry about that, I misunderstood indeed, and I also forgot that, for whatever reason, Pro Tools limited the available ports to 16. My apologies.
