  • Velocity Layers

    Hi All,

Could anyone enlighten me please - I am confused as to how many Velocity layers the Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Piano has (in the Special Edition Vol 1).

    Many thanks.

  • Hi Jackmon,

in the Special Edition Vol 1 the Bösendorfer has 3 velocity layers. In Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro you can see it.
In Vienna Instruments in the advanced mode,
in Vienna Intruments Pro, click first on "advanced" in the right upper corner, and then on the word "advanced" a little more to the left and a little bit down.

  • Hi MMKA,

    Thanks very much for that.

Yes, I did notice the 3 on the Advanced page.

So, I guess the Bosendorfer Imperial Grand, when bought as a separate instrument, is a different beast - as the description for that states 7 velocity layers per sample?

Yes, indeed, and the Vienna Imperial has many more velocities per key (up to 100), but is of course more expensive. But the difference in quality was for me a good reason to wait some time until I could afford the Vienna Imperial.

  • O.K.

That makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for clearing things up for me - much appreciated.
