  • [SOLVED] Sierra Slave Upgrade - VEPRO gone

    Hello

After upgrading my MacPro 5.1 slave to Sierra I just suddenly don't find my slave on my local network anymore. Pretty akward since I'm in the middle of a project. Stupid moron shouldn't have upgraded.... ahhh

Well I have static IP adresses assigned to all my computers (1 Master iMac and a PC and the MacPro slave).

The PC is doing fine but  don'd find the MacPro anymore. Wifi disabled etc....

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Forgot to say... Remote Desktop works just fine... VNC Viewer...

  • Hi Urs,

What are you network settings? Did you check that the subnet mask is still set to 255.255.255.0 (I have heard of cases where it has changed...)?

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hey Paul

I see.... You might be right....

So all the subnet masks have to be manually set to 255.255.255.0?? Master and Slaves right?

    Thanks
    Urs

  • Hey Paul

I set all the subnet masks to the mentionend adress. Nothing has changed so far....

The IP adresses are assigned manually as well... Don't know what's suddenly going on...

    Greetings

    U

    Hi,

Can you please share your settings?
This is also adressed in the VE PRO 6 manual on page 3.

  • After contacting VSL support this weekend I found the simple solution to this problem.

Using a standard 10.0.0.x IP adress combined wit the 255.255.255.0 did the trick. I had a custom IP adress that wasn't recognised by the MacPro...

Thanks to Paul at VSL for this over-the-weekend quick fix! Greeat support as always at VSL.

    Have a beautiful sunday everyone!
