  • Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 GUI will not appear

    Hello,

In a similar earlier thread I posted about my eLicenser not being able to finish the Maintenance option.  One poster suggested I skip this and just see what happens.

I did a fresh install of the latest version of VEP 5.  Then, just for good measure, I restarted the PC.

On restart, I start the Vienna Ensemble Pro 64 bit server.  The cursor changes to the hourglass for a moment but the VEP 5 GUI never appears.  However, in the Resource Monitor, Vienna Ensemble Pro x64 is shown in the CPU list and the Memory list.

Just to recap, this is after uninstalling eLicenser and VEP 5.  I also uninstalled the East West Installation Center (which the installation of yesterday seemed to coincide with these problems...) and PACE.  Then I reinstalled iLok Manager (which includes PACE), eLicenser and VEP5.  Still can't get VEP5 to fully come to life.

    Any suggestions?  Thanks!

    Paul

  • Unbelievable.

After almost 20 hours of trying to figure this thing out, all I had to do was move the eLicenser from the USB 3.0 slot to a USB 2.0 slot.  I had moved it because on my case, the USB 2.0 slots are on the top of the case, and I felt the back pane would be a safer place (but all the 2.0 slots were taken up back there).

I'm not sure, but this problem seems to be limited to certain motherboards, one of which is the Gigabyte Motherboard.  So apologies to East West, it was not the problem of their Installation Center that I installed yesterday.
