  • Amazing Grace

Here is a Fantasia on Amazing Grace I did  with the Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band out of Reno Nevada,  and VSL.  It places the solo piper and then the full pipe band into MIR Vienna Konzerthaus along with the orchestra.

Beautiful. I found the section featuring flute and harp especially moving.

  • Thanks Paul. On this piece getting the balance correct with the bagpipes is difficult because they are so loud even one player can dominate an orchestra.  Also the tuning was at least a half step off to begin with!

  • There are so many version of this fabulous hymn out there and it is daring to add another fantasia to the lot. But what you did with it is just 'amazing'. Full of grace and with great fantasy, your orchestration is outstanding as well as the performance. It gave me goosebumps. Really well done!

  • Thanks  Max!

  • Another great one! Much warmth. This is a wonderful rendition of Amzaing Grace. I'm impressed how well you were able to blend the live bagpipe with VSL.

  • Thanks again Guy, it is a real pleasure to have you listen!

  • Wow William!

I'm a little late to the party here but congratulations on a masterful rendition of a classic.  It's flawless.  You really can't tell that this enhanced with samples.  Great work!

  • Thanks Jasen!

  • Hi,

it's an amazing work you have done here William ! A very moving version, and a perfect match between the real bagpipes and the VSL orchestra. Without a doubt one of the best version I ever heard of this song. Bravo !!!
