  • Export Audio File in Finale 2012c with VSL

I have Vienna Ensemble loaded into Finale 2012, and it works beautifully and playback works just fine. However, when I go to export an audio file of the project the .wav file is just a bunch of crackles, instead of the music that I was hearing in the program. The export function still works just fine with the regular Garatin instruments that came with Finale, but for some reason, it is acting up with Vienna Ensemble.

ASUS Laptop, Windows 10 running Finale 2012c and Vienna Ensemble 5 if that's of any help.

  • Hello SDGMusic!

This is an export audio bug of Finale 2012. It is fixed in the latest Finale versions. As a workaround you could record the audio output during playback.

  • I'm not convinced with that though, since I had been exporting .wav files with finale 2012c just fine until two days ago. Is this a new bug?

  • Fixed it! It turns out that under the audio settings tab, my audio output channel had been changed from 1-2 to 5-6, so I could still hear during playback but the export was wrong.

  • Thanks for the update. That's good to read. It might have been an earlier version than Finale 2012c that had an export audio problem with some instruments.

    Hello,

I have the same exact problem and I am running Finale 2014.5. Everything sounds fine when i playback in Finale, but when I export a WAV or AIFF file I get a very noisy track. So if there's a bug in Finale 2012, wouldn't they have solved the problem by v. 2014.5? Btw, Audio export sounds fine with the Garritan Library, but I use Vienna Ensemble.

    Thanks in advance,  ðŸ˜‡

    - Mark

  • Hello Mark!

As far as I know this bug doesn't come up on all computers and not all plugins are affected. I thought it was solved in Finale 2014 and 2014.5. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it.

    Best regards,
    Andi
