  • Default preset's control values

    Hi,

I'm trying to figure the reason for some particular default settings for the supplied presets. For example,

    - Master Volume is never at 127
    - Start Offset is never at 0 (it is set at 15)
    - Tuning is never neutral (it is set at 15)

Is there a reason for this? I can guess that Master Volume is kept low to avoid clipping in a busy arrangement, but I'm not sure about the other settings. Any hint on how to set these parameters with my own presets?

  • Hi,

Master Volume gives you headroom when playing multiple fortissimo samples at once.

Start Offset only applies when you alter the settings in the Advanced Page of othe Advanced View (very advanced).

Tuning is only affected if you use the Humanize Slider (Tuning is a sub-parameter of Humanize).

    Best,
    Paul

  • Thank you Paul. I'll keep the master volume lower in my presets (I think I'll set on 110 as a default), and explore the humanization functions a bit more.

  • Dear Paul,

I am sending everything (all VI Pro instruments) from Vienna ensemble 6 to MIR 24, whrere I rely on the natural volume for groups of the same instruments. But what should I do with with the global volume slider in Vienna instrument where each of groups of delivered presets has a different volume (Advenced view, Perform, Volume)? Nowhere is explained the relation between this volume and the natural volume in MIR 24. Shoud the volume be equalized in all Vienna instrument for all presets, for example 100 or 110?

    thanks for advice
