I'm still listening to the demos and videoes so I may have missed something but where can I hear examples of the surround mics mixed back into the stereo mix? I'm trying to decide what advantages the Full (Extended) Perc might have over just the Standard if one is only working in stereo.
Of course surround recordings were designed ideally for surround playback, but if one is not working in surround, how useful will the surround mics be when folded back into stereo? (as is typical with OT Berlin and Spitifire) Can the surround mics be mixed in to create a richer more reverberant stereo mix? Why aren't these surround mics showcased in the video examples? (or did I miss something?)
Can you please direct me to where I might hear examples of what the surround mics sound like?
Also will additional Synchron Series instruments follow this same pattern with Stadard (all articluations) and Extended (surrounds)?
Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg - I heard they're working on demoes for those mics.
(EDIT: I bought it and no, they're not up yet). I'm curious if the Synchron Percussion is available in the Audition Player. Anyone know?

Hi Greg,
we have now a new demo online, where you can compare between a regular Stereo mix using Standard content, and a 2nd version with Full Mic content in a Downmix to Stereo version:
SY-4U - Stereo Mix SY-4U - Surround to Stereo-Downmix
https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Percussion_Complete/Synchron_Percussion_I#!Demos
Even just comparing within this downmix to stereo version showcase the difference and sonic possibilities quite good. You can imagine how a real surround or even a 3D mix might sound! I recomment to download both files and add them into any multittrack audio software for an effective comparison.
Both tracks are straight out of the box mixes, no plugins, no EQ, no additional reverb.

Thank you Herb, much appreciated.
Wow, these sound absolutely incredible! I can only imagine how much more stunning they must be in true surround.
It would be interesting to release the stems for this demo so that those with surround setups might be able to play back the tracks and their DAW and get a taste of the possibilities.
Cheers,
Greg
