  • LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO ORCHESTRATE A SONG (in MIDI format) USING VIENNA

    Hi there,

I am writing in hopes to find someone who can orchestrate a midi of 'The Prayer.' I had a custom arrangement made and now need someone to put the insturment patches over the midi file to make it sound like a real orchestra is playing. It's only 6 insturments: Harp, Grand Piano, Drumps, Clarinet, Solo Violin and Solo Cello. The song will be used at my wedding ceremy. So it is very important to me. I've hired people over the years to do similar things for different events, so I know it can be done.

If anyone is interested and skilled at doing this, then reach out to me at chadmurnane@mac.com. I am a perfectonist, so I won't be happy until the song sounds perfect. So be reay to make adjustments (unless you nail it on the first go around). I DO have a price point in mind, so reach out to let me know if you are interested and we can chat further. In the past, I've paid around $100- $125 for this sort of project.

Thanks for reading this. Hope to hire someone soon!

    Hi,

maybe I do the orchestration rendering you need. The following should help you to decide if I come into consideration.

I use VSL libraries for years making do with the special edition (SE). It's only two weeks ago that I bought the Solo Strings I and Orchestral Strings I&II out of the big VSL collections. So it's only my very latest orchestration, in which some SE solo violin patches are replaced by new ones. It is the orchestral accompaniment of Mahler's "Urlicht", originally written for solo voice and orchestra as a Wunderhorn lied, but then chozen by the composer as 4th movement of his 2nd Symphony. You may get an impression opening the following Youtube-Video:

In order to judge if you tend to confide in my skills (using SE samples) please have a look (rsp. lend your ear) to my whole "Mahler Minus You" Project: I created the orchestral playbacks (accompaniments) of all of Gustav Mahler’s song cycles/collections, and there’s a video on Youtube, that gives free access to 25 one-minute-samples of my results:

If you want to listen to the whole stuff in full length, let me know. (It’s all readymade and uploaded as Youtube video as well, but “not listed”, which means: you have to know the link to find and open it: I do not yet dare to give free access directly, cause “my” whole “Wunderhorn” collection (12 songs) and the “wayfarer” cycle (4 songs) are also available for a fair price in a special interactive file format on “smartsoloist.com”. So, in case you want to learn more we should correspond in a separate e-mail exchange.

As piano I rather use my digital piano rather than the Boesendorfer which is part of my VSL special edition libraries. It is a Yamaha CLP-470: To get an impression of its sound please listen to one of my own compositions featuring the piano, such as

Of course: If you insist on the SE Boesendorfer, let me know...

If you like, send me the midi file of "The Prayer" adding any important or helpful informations and tell me how much time I (and of course you) would have to decide and then I to do the job.

Maybe we’d both feel better fixing even two vage dead lines: one for the decision, and as the case may be another one for the completion itself. I’m not yet familiar with the habits and rules in this forum, so if in doubt to reach me, please contact me via e-mail to uschau@aol.com.

    Please excuse my bad english
