  • Getting full 24 channels into 1 instance in Logic X

    Hi all,

I'm currently struggling to find a way of routing midi instruments into VE (and by extension Mir 24) in Logic X. My current workflow is to create one multi-timbral instrument with 16 voices, create one instance of VE and then match up 16 instruments in VE with the corresponding MIDI channel.

The difficulty arises when I want to add a 17th instrument, such as in larger orchestral works. Surely it must be possible if Mir can accomodate up to 24 instruments (or indeed more in the full version). My only other solution seems to be a second instance of VE but this would prevent me from mixing everything in one instance of Mir.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated!

    Bryan.

  • Hi Bryan,

MIR PRO  basically offers a separate venue for each instance in VE / VE PRO, so that you could, e.g., also mix different venues, if you like.  In other words, there is currently no way to have a MIR PRO that is populated with players hosted in different instances.

However, if you want to use multiple instances in VE / VE PRO and still want to host your mix in the same venue, make sure that you have the same settings applied for MIR PRO in all instances, so that the results will match (if that's what you are after).

    Best,
    Paul
