  • Finding a Howard Hanson score

Does anyone have any thoughts about how I can find a score for Howard Hanson "Merry Mount" Suite?

    Thanks,
    Jay

  • Jay,

Try the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. I think Hanson taught there for years. They may have copies of his scores.

  • If you live in the USA, try your local public library -- they can do surprising things with interlibrary loan, including getting things from Eastman's Sibley library.

  • Try calling Christine Corado in the Alumni department. She is pretty resourceful. Hanson did teach there for many years...back when Frederick Fennell was a student....the 1930's I believe.

  • Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Jay,

There were no study scores in print a few years ago. Will you post if you have any luck?

    Thanks,

  • Jay-
I will in my school's music library. If it's there, I could email you a pdf of the score. - I'll let you know.
