  • How to open LogicX file without VE Pro5?

    Hello community,

The project I’m working with has some older versions and from time to time I need to go back to check. By opening, they change VE Pro 5 setup by loading there own viframe64 and mframe64. I guess, the most easy will be to delete viframe64 and mframe64 form older versions  and just open LogicX’s files only. At the same time I guess that this issue could be known and someway arranged by VSL.

I’m just asking. Thanks in advance.

  • Did you save the Logic project coupled?

  • Hi and thanks for reply,

Do you mean Locic's file separately?

Could you share a detales, please!

    Thanks in advance.

When you save your Logic project, you either have the software instruments connections to the VE Pro instances Coupled or Decoupled. If coupled, it populates VE Pro for you, while Decoupled simply connects to an already Loaded VE Pro server project.

The latter is safer because Logic does not become sluggish and it avoids the problem you described.

  • Thanks Ashermusic,

As I remember I had a problem with Decouple in past. When it was on it there wasn't a sound after which I stoped to use it. I'll folow your advise and have a try.

Could I take an advantage and ask a question. What is the best way to use INs and OUTs of Logic and RME Fireface UFX?

    Two Scenarios with 4 instances- Wind/Brass/Percussions/Strings                                                                 Scenario 1.                                                                                                                                                 Strings ----- 1/2     [after use + button] 3/4; 5/6; 7/8;  9/10                                                                          Winds 11/12 [after use + button] 13/14;15/16;17/18;                                                                                  Brass 19/20 [after use + button] 21/22; 23/24                                                                                    Percussions 25/26 [after use + button] 27/28;  29/30;  31/32.

    Scenario 2

    Strings    -----1/2      [after use + button]Violin II (3/4); Viola (5/6); Cellos (7/8); D.Bass (9/10)                               Winds    ------1/2          [after use + button] 11/12; 13/14; 15/16;                                                                         Brass --------- 1/2           [after use + button] 17/18;  19/20; 21/22; 23/24                                                           Percussions 1/2 [after use + button] 25/26;  27/28; 29/30;  31/32

I hope it isn't too much complicated.

Why do you want to separate the sections to different outputs? Are you stemming out to a summing mixer or console? If not, then there is no advantage to this.

  • Hello Ashermusic,

    Thanks for two questions.

1.Why do you want to separate the sections to different outputs?

UFX has an EQ on each channel and, by sending for example Timpani and Symbales to different channels with different adjustments. Also, in VE Pro 5 I can do the same adjustements. By asking this way do you mean to connect all instruments to main Output 1+2?

    2. Are you stemming out to a summing mixer or console?

If you are talking about external equipments, then NO, only in computer. If you answer to the first question will be YES - only main output, then what is the value to have so much In/Outs?

Dear Ashermusic, I'm not so competent like you, as you can see. I would be very obliged to you if you enlighten me a bit about the subject.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Gukas, I am afraid you need more time and help than I can provide in a few posts on this in a forum, and for me that is a paid service I provide..
